I've checked the site for the Bass Sound System. It doesn't say that it supports MIDI playback whatsoever. If you were planning on being able to use Bass 0.8 and play MIDI files, I recommend learning about Direct Music. I've tried Bass 0.8 and the DirectMusic program that came with the DirectX7 SDK and they both work at the same time. Where did you think that it did?
