I'm in the process of learning DX functions in vb and have a couple generic, problably already answered questions, but humor me ok ;) Is it better to code using DX7 or DX8 functions? When 8 first came out there were a lot of people complaining about it. Can DX do transparent colors to eliminate the need for masks and do it at very fast speeds? Can DX do opacity changes / blending at fast speeds? Lastly what are a couple of the best web links you know of that can help me learn the specifics of coding in DX quickly?
