Retro Remakes Competition Entries - hotrodx (4 replies, 10 views) (2003-Aug-2)

Hi! I'd like to invite everyone to check out the entries in the Retro Remakes competition at www.remakes.org. My entry, Space Harrier VGL (#41), was written in VB (and VGL 1.1), to make sure Visual Basic is represented in the competition. It's an open-language competition. There are games written in C++, C, Delphi, DarkBasic, BlitzBasic, Div, Gamemaker, etc. The entries can be found at: http://www.remakes.org/website/competition/results.php Check it out for pure nostalgia fix, especially for old-timers out there.

Gamemakers are allowed too? That suck imo, you have to work harder for the same results, just because you realy code everything. Huge diff in challenge here.

I don't know bren. I made mine using VGL, and I felt my effort was way better than some entries. It's really how you use your tools. Those game kits can probably make development faster, but they, in my opinion, can be limited, unlike Languages such as VB and C++.
