One commercial 3D engine out there which is VB-friendly is Genesis3D, which as memory serves me, used to actually be written in VB (or at least parts of it).

http://genesis3d.com

Anyone know of others?

After working with ORE and the community for years, I can not stress this enough;

ORE is not an ORPG maker, just an engine. It takes a lot of time, patience and knowledge of Visual Basic to make a game. :)

There is also http://www.revolution3d.org/ for VB.
And there is the Online RPG Engine, http://www.baronsoft.com/
And I have to mention this one, http://www.dabooda-engine.tk/

Actually, your right. I was thinking of TrueVision3D, not Genesis3D. However, it does look like the Genesis3D engine supports VB.

I have to admit I was a bit surprised at the mention of VB support. I've been following Genesis3D off and on for several years now, and I'd never noticed any inclining of compatability with VB before. At any rate, here's another one: http://www.truevision3d.com/home.php I think this might be the one that you remembered being written in VB at one time (though they are finishing up a completely C++ version). There are others I have run across over time, but unfortunately I don't recall any of them right now.

Yeah....that's a bit odd. I also don't remember Genesis3D costing 10K USD. I guess they got proud at some point.

At least the engine is free if you are willing to put up with the splash screen.

That Genesis3D looks pretty cool. Though, I found this kinda odd:

"A commercial, closed source, no splash screen license is also available for $10,000 per title. Please contact jet3d@yahoo.com to make arrangements for a commercial license."

You dont often see someone asking for $10,000 to a Yahoo email address. Just looks so... unprofessional. :p
