DXRE v1.0 Pre-Release - Spodi (6 replies, 2109 views) (2004-Feb-26)

I decided to make a pre-release version of DXRE 1.0 since it is taking longer to finish then I realized. A huge list of what is new is at the site under the Downloads section. Unlike before, the site should also now be up 24/7 thanks to free hosting by DragonBound. Looks cool, but it doesn't run properly on my computer. Controls don't work, low fps, and sprites move freakishly fast. Try using time based modelling Running Windows XP

It does use time based modeling, though I dont think I configured it right since I switched from GetTickCount to QueryPerformanceCounter. I'll try to update it soon. The controls should work, though.

I also had the same problem. Couldn't move and it was just running really fast, like 3x-5x the normal speed. The old versions work (i think)... I'm using windows xp prof.

I updated the file, got rid of QueryPerformanceTimer and replaced it with GetTickCount again. I'm not really in the mood figuring out what I have to debug to make it run right. I believe I have to use the Frequency somewhere while calculating the elapsed time... but meh... another day.

I think the speed is just right now, but I still cant move. It isn't nothing with the keys, since I can press the ESC key to exit, so it's probably something with the moving routines.

It might be something with the keys since the movement keys you can define with the Config.ini file, but just those. So there might be something wrong with the loading on that's part. I'll check into it. Thanks for the reports.
