From the channel 9 web site ...
quote:
This summer, why not put your coding skills and creativity to good use for a chance to win an Xbox with Xbox Live subscription and Halo 2!* That's right, we're giving away six Xboxes each with an Xbox live kit that includes a one year subscription and a copy of the soon-to-be-released, Halo 2. The Summer of Express contest is a worldwide skill contest where developers are challenged to create "non-business" applications using the newly announced Express products. The Express products are lightweight, easy to use, easy to learn tools for hobbyists, enthusiasts, and students who want to build dynamic Windows applications and Web sites. Express is all about having fun and we sure hope you do.

Is anyone going to be submitting a game or demo to this contest?

Considering I have never actually "finished" a 3D game, probably not. Also, even if I did miraculouly finish a project, I doubt it would be anywhere near what everyone else could do. Do they have a "minor's" section? That may give me at least a fighting chance to be recognized...

Hay! You sneaky little monkey! you changed to poster name from cbx to Eric Coleman. Did'nt think I'd catch that did you haha! (PS: I'm the original poster of this news) I'm with Sr. Guapo, I was going to, but I'm not going to be here to create a game anyway, and if I did I probably would not even finish the game.

I had to delete the original post because it contained invalid characters for the xml encoding I was using. The invalid characters caused the xml data parsing to fail, so the news posting script never finished, and because of that an entry into the forum was never created and people couldn't post comments. After I changed the code page for the xml data I reposted the news, and since I can't log on as you I wasn't able to post as you.
